Clinical trials underway for HSDD and hypogonadism

About

A 10-amino-acid peptide that activates Kiss1R receptors in the hypothalamus, the strongest natural activator of GnRH. Studied for hypogonadism and low testosterone.

Mechanism

Binds Kiss1R receptors on GnRH neurons, triggering an LH and FSH pulse and then testosterone or estradiol release.

Best in the morning when natural hormone pulses are activating.

Cycle structure

4-12 week cycles, with at least a 4-week break (to avoid desensitization).

Reconstitution & Storage

5 mg + 5 mL → 1 mg/mL

A large bac volume yields convenient small doses. Very fragile — the peptide degrades quickly.

Lyophilized: refrigerated. After reconstitution: 2-8°C, 7-14 days (shorter than most).

Benefits

  • • Naturally raises LH and FSH
  • • Improved libido (both sexes)
  • • Raises testosterone (men)
  • • Possible fertility boost
  • • Gentler than HCG (no desensitization)

Side effects

  • • Headache
  • • Flushing and warmth
  • • Rare: nausea
  • • Well tolerated at low doses

Contraindications

  • • Hormone-sensitive cancers
  • • Pregnancy
  • • Pituitary tumor
  • • Use of tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors

Gender notes

Men

Raises LH → testosterone. Popular as an HCG alternative.

Women

Studied for HSDD and fertility — depends on the cycle phase.
